New parts seem to be still available but I really didn#x27;t want to spend 50.00 for a machine that only cost 80.00 around 10 yrs ago It had a pretty serious vibration problem for a few years,I assumed the engine was worn out but when drive stopped working motor still ran fine. Since the engine turns off shortly after starting your weed eater, the idle speed may just be too slow. Find the screw to adjust the idle speed. This is usually behind the air filter, but if you have trouble locating it, consult your user manual. Adjust the screw using only 14 turns before trying to start the trimmer again. Recently, the spool head of the trimmer will not spin or even act like it wants to spin. The trimmer starts fine and the throttle trigger revs like normal but the head doesn#x27;t spin.
